The El Volador Hill contains greenspaces and vegetation of exceptional environmental val-ue to the west central area of the city where it is located. This reserve, cradle of early cultures and set aside to preserve its biodiversity is a place for recreation and outdoor sports, but also ideal for the enjoyment and quiet contemplation of nature. The park, a National Historical and Natural Heritage Site since 1992, combines different spaces and activities of importance to the visitor includ-ing learning about the city’s history, hiking, and bird watching. The area also serves as a lookout from which the visitor can admire Medellín’s transformation.
