The Carré Building, an architectural jewel by any standards, in Medellín, Colombia or elsewhere, was constructed by French architect Charles Émile Carré in the late-19th-early-20th century. The building is located in Plaza Cisneros, a short distance from downtown Medellín, and is surrounded by several other tourist attractions. In its time, on account of its 4 floors, it was the tallest building in the city. Due to its architectural and historical significance, the Carré Building was restored to its original grandeur by the Mayor’s Office and is now home to the Secretary of Education of Medellín.
