Carrera 52 No. 44-31

The Vásquez Building and its neighbor, the Carré Building, whose structures resemble the traditional coffee-pulp drying constructions of typical haciendas found throughout Antioquia, are two treasures of Medellín architec-ture and history. The two buildings, along with Medellín’s old Railroad Station, located just across the street, are reminders of the Medellín of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Vásquez Building, designed by students of French architect Charles Emile Carré, now totally renovated, is headquarters to a family allowance fund agency under a rent-free agreement with the city of Medellín.
