50. El Castillo Museum

This turreted medieval-styled castle, surround-ed by French gardens, was built in 1930. The construction, a museum since 1972, is located in the El Poblado sector, southeast of downtown Medellín. It holds a fine art and decorative arts collection including European paintings, Colombian artists, as well as artistic objects and antiques from the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th, all belonging to the Echavarría Zur-Nieden family. The museum also offers classes in Fine Arts and Music; and for the collector in you: pieces of great artistic and historical value can be acquired at the museum store found on the premises.
Hour: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
