7. San Antonio Square
In addition to Berrío Square and Plaza Botero, the San Antonio Square is another public space exhibiting sculptures by Master Sculptor Fernando Botero. Masculine Torso, Sleep-ing Venus, and Bird are three such works that can be admired here. Also found here is Master Artist Ronny Vayda’s “Gate to San Antonio” sculpture, which standing on the Square’s north-east corner may very well serve as introduction to one of Medellín’s best known meeting places. The hard-surface 355,000-square-foot plaza is ideal for large-crowd events. The venue is flanked by the San Antonio Church, the San Antonio Crafts Boulevard, the Alliance Française headquarters, food courts, banks and busi-nesses, small plazas and leisure areas, as well as an open-air theater.
