Plaza Gardel

Plaza Gardel

A small open-air plaza just outside the Olaya Herrera Airport pays homage to Carlos Gardel, the famed Argentinian Tango singer who died in an airplane accident on the same spot in 1935. The plaza, crowned by a sculpture to Gardel by Antioquia artist Salvador Arango, has become a must-see location to Tango and Gardel fans, frequently holding concerts most of which are dedicated to that genre.
