More than 400 species and 4,000 specimens, including fish, amphibians, reptiles, and arthropods from Colombia's oceans and rivers give life to the 25 water tanks found throughout the Aquarium, which is one of the main attractions found not only at the Parque Explora but in Medellín.

A flooded jungle comes alive with species from the Amazon Jungle becoming an eye-catcher for visitors. Sea horses awe the spectators as do the corals, octopuses, reef fish, manta rays, jellyfish, electric fish, and so many other species not present in our daily lives.

The 153,236 gallons of water in the fish tanks transport the visitor to an aquatic realm of never-ending wonders. The Aquarium doubles as a research and environmental education center, receiving support from other institutions at the local and national levels. Its main function is to bring Colombia's ocean and river life to every visitor.
