Medellín will surprise you from start to finish
Medellín, the second largest city in Colombia, is prepared to receive thousands of travelers. This past March, for example, Medellín organized the South American Games, considered to be the best in the history of the games. More than five thousand people enjoyed the city. A city that received them with open arms, a city that surprised them all with its social progress and fine city planning.
Medellín is a city in continuing progress. Thus, it is not unusual for those who visit the city with some frequency, to encounter new places to visit; new things to do: modern shopping centers, party areas, modern, eye-catching public parks, museums and theaters with a wide variety of scheduled events, making it all the more attractive and cosmopolitan.
In Medellín the old and the new combine in just the right proportions to create unique surroundings contributing to unforgettable experiences. Rural and urban environments are also blended in such a way that you can enjoy Nature without giving up all the modern comforts.
To the list of traditional tourist attractions like The Planetarium, the Botanical Garden, the Metropolitana Cathedral, the Museum of Antioquia, the Explora Park, and the Parque Norte Amusement Park already crowding the visitor’s agenda we must add many other must-see places like cable cars, nursery schools, the Parks and Library, and the Linear Parks, among others.
Medellín will also surprise you in its generous public spaces and the wealth of architecture in its buildings. You will find spaces which are lasting venues of a transformation which has not only been physical but also social and cultural in its implications.
And what about the weather and landscape? No wonder Medellín is called “the city of eternal spring”. This metropolis, surrounded by lush green mountains, is blanketed all year long with a great variety of flowers which color the panorama and perfume the surroundings.
But it is August, with the Flower Fair, the stellar moment that shows the world the new face of Medellín: a festive city open to visitors; a city which still honors its traditions, and where brotherly love, hospitality and smiles from its inhabitants have made of her the best hostess.
Medellín wants to be everyone's dwelling place: a city for you to walk; to surprise yourself; to reunite with old friends; to share; to experience alongside your family; to enjoy with all your senses.
