In fact, a few days before celebrating Colombiamoda, the most important fashion fair in Latin America, we made a review of some brands and designers that are a source of pride for the city.

Although it was born as a women’s underwear company, Chamela is a paisa brand that today has product lines for different occasions of use such as sports, vacations and relaxation.

Arturo Calle
Under the name of its creator, Arturo Calle is one of the most recognized brands in the men’s fashion industry in Colombia for offering high-quality, fashionable and diverse garments and accessories at fair prices.
The brand has attracted different international markets including several countries in Central America such as Panama, Costa Rica and El Salvador.
Velez
Handmade footwear, bags, belts, accessories and clothing honor the craftsmanship of leather goods through Cueros Vélez, another of the Antioquian brands that are also sold in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Peru and El Salvador with the unique seal of talent made in Medellín.
Fashion designers of Medellin
Undoubtedly, if we are talking about fashion designers from Medellín, one of the most renowned names is Olga Piedrahita, the fashion designer from Medellín who, inspired by art and ballet, has created an unmistakable seal in which the dynamic and the experimental coexist through versatile garments that evoke movement and freedom.
Like Olga, another great paisa designer is Maria Luisa Ortiz, who in addition to having worked in the haute couture workshops of Christian Dior, involves in her designs Colombian handicrafts that give her garments the perfect touch to celebrate our identity.
Isabel Henao is another name that is part of the repository of great Colombian fashion designers, her passion for bridal gowns, in which she captures what she defines as “a new romanticism”, has made her a reference in this area.
Like them, the winner of the first edition of Project Runway Latin America is from Paisa: Jorge Duque, who combines craftsmanship with new sustainable technologies to create unique garments.
Finally, Felipe Cartagena and Andrés Pajón are responsible for having created a world-class fashion brand that found its inspiration in the natural and cultural opulence of Colombia, transforming the perception of luxury, glamour and Latin American elegance.
