The city transforms again into a giant illuminated nativity scene that celebrates our customs and family values. The streets and parks will be filled with music, color, and gatherings to enjoy as a community. Lighting of the Christmas Lights

The magic begins here. This symbolic event marks the start of the Christmas festivities in the city. A spectacular display of lights will illuminate Parques del Río, where you will also find commercial areas and special activities for the whole family.

Day of the Little Candles

This typical celebration in honor of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary takes place on December 7 and 8. There are several events to enjoy with the family.

  • Sanalejo Artisan Market: December 7 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Christmas Plaza in Miraflores: December 7 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Christmas Plaza in Parque Norte: December 7 and 8 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Between Strings and Accordions Festival: December 7 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Parque Berrío.
  • Illuminated Park in San Antonio de Prado: December 7 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Main Park.
  • Street of the Artists: December 8 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Pueblito Paisa.
  • Parade of Myths and Legends: December 8 along Avenida La Playa – Oriental – San Juan – Parque de las Luces starting at 7:00 p.m.

Christmas Plazas

Meeting points to share with family. These plazas become vibrant, artistic, and cultural spaces where you can enjoy a variety of gastronomic activities and artistic performances.

  • Parque Norte: December 7 to 11
  • Ciudad del Río: December 11 to 15

Christmas Corridors

The magic of Christmas travels through Medellín. For more than two weeks, itinerant artistic groups will fill the city’s streets with parades, chirimías, and actors who will bring joy and tradition to every corner.

  • Dates: November 29 to December 15
  • Highlighted locations: Parques del Río and Plaza Botero

Parade of Myths and Legends

A night of tradition and fantasy. This event is an opportunity to rediscover the stories and legends that are part of Antioquian folklore. With colorful floats, costumes, and music, this parade is a must-see of the season.

  • When: Sunday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Route: From Pablo Tobón Uribe, passing through La Playa, La Oriental, San Juan, and ending at Parque de las Luces.

Illuminated Parks

Scenes of light and music. The neighborhood parks illuminated by EPM will be the meeting point to enjoy musical stages and activities that celebrate local culture.

Street Artists Festival

Local talent takes to the streets. This festival turns the main roads and tourist corridors of Medellín into stages where local artists present their work, creating a vibrant and cultural atmosphere.

Between Strings and Accordions Festival

A tribute to traditional music. This festival celebrates the typical sounds of our region, with performances of strings and accordions in the center of Medellín. A space to connect with our musical roots.

Sanalejo – Artisan Market

Art and local creativity in one place. Sanalejo brings together artisans from all over the region, offering a variety of unique products that are perfect for Christmas gifts or to take a piece of local culture home.

Christmas Park Culture

Activities that celebrate our traditions. These itinerant spaces highlight the cultural richness of Medellín with events that invite you to enjoy the Christmas spirit in different neighborhoods and communes of the city.
